Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there. I do not die.

-- Mary Elizabeth Frye

The musical piece played on this page is the 2nd movement, known as; "Adagio un poco mosso", from Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat major, Op. 73,.  Also known as the "Emperor Concerto", it was his last piano concerto, written in Vienna between 1809 and 1811, and dedicated to Archduke Rudolf, his patron and pupil.  Beethoven first performed the Emperor on November 28, 1811, at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig and this would also be his last public performance due to increasing deafness.  The movement is 8:30 in length.  If you prefer not to hear it, you may stop the music with the control above this paragraph.
